The Guardian is England’s largest circulation newspaper. Recently a reporter from the Guardian learned that a heroic man had saved a young girl from being killed by a vicious pit bull dog. The man, a neighbor, rushed to the girl’s defense and at the risk of his own life stabbed the dog with a knife and killed it.

A Guardian reporter called the hero and said: “We will publish your story under the headline, ‘Courageous Englishman saves life of a young girl by killing vicious dog”.

The hero said: “I am not an Englishman.” “I notice by your accent that you are evidently a European, so we will write: ‘Heroic European saves young girl from death by vicious dog”. “ I am not from Europe,” said the hero. “I am from Asia.” “Then we will headline the story ‘Fearless Asian saves young girl from pit bull attack,” said the reporter. “Tell me,” said the reporter from the Guardian, “from which country in Asia are you?” “I am from Israel,” said the hero. The next day the Guardian published: “Vicious Jew Murders Little Girl’s Dog”.

This is hardly a joke. The Guardian publishes endless attacks on the British Jewish community, on the American Jewish community, the U.S. government and of course on Israel. Any lie is good enough for the Guardian. According to the Guardian, the recent unprovoked attack on Israel by the Arab terrorists is all the fault of the Jews.

Despite the proven fact that there never was a “massacre” in the Palestinian town of Jenin, the Guardian keeps bleating that the army of Israel killed innumerable “Palestinians” there, although this is utter nonsense and hate propaganda.

The Guardian to this day blames Ariel Sharon because Christian Arabs entered a Philistine camp in Lebanon years ago and murdered the Muslims living there. According to the Guardian it is the fault of ‘the Jews’ when one Arab murdered another Arab.

The Guardian also rails against the Jewish community in England using all the medieval images which finally led to the mass murder of 6 million Jews. Likewise they attack the U.S. for standing up against the terrorists who can do no wrong in the eyes of the Guardian editors.

The Guardian is not alone. The British Broadcasting Company endlessly interviews Arab hate mongers who rant their poison all over the world. Jews are not welcome there. The result of all this hate propaganda is that British Jews are a beleaguered minority of 250,000 amidst 60 million who hear the same diatribe each day which was once the province of Joseph Goebbels, Hitler’s propaganda minister.

Another British institution which specializes in anti-Jewish hate is Amnesty International. Claiming to defend the rights of the persecuted of this world, this organization publishes its bigotry in Arabic and English. According to Amnesty International, Israel is guilty of war crimes for defending itself against the recent terrorist attacks coming from Lebanon. The terrorists, however, are by no means guilty of anything. Kidnapping, murder and rocket attacks are no crime, according to Amnesty International, as long as the victims are only Jews. The slaughter of Israeli civilians by suicide bombers are no crime. But building a wall to keep them out, that is a crime. Shooting rockets into Israeli towns to kill anyone at random, is, according to Amnesty International, no crime at all. Shooting back, that is a crime.

Amnesty International and the Anglican Church cannot understand how Jews dare to defend their lives. Surely, a Jew is someone who walks into the gas ovens while mumbling ancient prayers. Furthermore, is it not reasonable that since the Europeans had the right to slaughter 6 million Jews the Arabs should have the same right? A Jew who fights back and defends his life is intolerable to Amnesty International, the Guardian, the Anglican Church and of course, CNN.

In view of all this, and in view of the failure of the Democrats to ever stand up for Israel, we should be grateful that the current President of the U.S. is the only president we ever had who defends the right of Israel to defend itself and who also appointed a large number of American Jews to his cabinet and other positions. George W. Bush doesn’t just talk. He acts. Bonis exemplis, magis impetramus, quam bonis verbis.

It is even possible that some of us American Jews will some day learn the difference between our friends and our enemies. Until then we rely on the courage of the people of Israel to defend themselves.
