The Jewish Vote for Obama

Commentary by Dr. Gerhard Falk

November 2008

In November 2008 nearly 80% of American Jewish voters voted for this:

1.  The Medal of Freedom, America’s highest civilian award, is to be given to Mary Robinson by Barack Obama, who evidently agrees with her views on Jews. Robinson, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, presided over the “World Conference Against Racism,” which met in Durban, South Africa, in 2001. At that conference, Robinson participated with the Arab delegations in screaming “Hitler should have finished the job.” She also voted and introduced endless resolutions blaming Israel for everything wrong in this world. Of course, we cannot now complain. After all, 80% of Jews voted for this.

2.  The American consulate in eastern Jerusalem has been instructed by Hillary Clinton, secretary of state, to use only Arabic and English in dealing with the Israeli public. Hebrew is no longer used. Of course, we cannot complain. After all, Jews were enthusiastic in electing her senator from New York and supporting her and Obama. Surely, when 80% of Jews voted for this we have no right to complain now.

3.  Obama and Clinton demand that all Jews be evacuated from Jerusalem. This would make 400,000 Jews homeless, so that 400,000 foreign Arabs could move in and make Yerushalayim an all Muslim city. No Jews allowed. Of course we cannot complain, since 80% of Jews voted for this.

4.  Clinton and Obama demand that 380,000 Jews evacuate all towns and cities in Judea and Samaria. This would make a total of 780,000 Jews homeless and allow nearly 800,000 terrorists to destroy what may perhaps be left of Israel. But then, we voted for this in November.

5.  Obama went to Cairo in Egypt and held a speech most praised by Israel’s enemies. He had great sympathy for the terrorists in Gaza. For Jews he has no sympathy.  Jews are allowed to die as the terrorists fire rockets into Israeli cities and towns. That’s o.k. After all, 80% of Jews voted for this.

6.  Recently, Obama invited some Jews to the White House to discuss Jewish concerns. The Zionist Organization of American was not invited. Only a few self hating Jews were invited. They agreed with his anti-Israel policies. In fact, Obama is willing to meet with Ahmadinejad, the president of Iran, who wants to wipe Israel from the map. But he will not meet with Mort Klein, the president of the ZOA. Of course, 80% of Jews voted for that, so why should Obama do otherwise.

There is more and more to come. Remember that Obama would not now be president if Jews had not financed his campaigns and if Jews had not thrown the electoral votes to him. If Israel is destroyed, American Jews will be a party to that destruction. It is of course not hard to believe for those of us who lived through the Holocaust without any help from the American Jewish community. As someone said over and over: “All we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history”.

Shalom u’vracha.
