The Liberation of Israel |
1967 Joseph
Goebbels, Hitler’s propaganda minister, repeatedly said, “If you tell a lie
often enough it becomes the truth.” This lesson has been well learned by the
Arab followers of Hitler, who keep repeating the lie that somehow Israel is
occupying so-called “Palestinian” land. It is of course impossible for
Israel to occupy Palestinian land because no country called Palestine has ever
existed and does not exist now. The word “Palestine” is an Anglo version of
the Latin word “Palestina,” which the Romans used with reference to the
ancient Philistines, who appeared in the Torah in connection with the story of
Samson and Delilah. The Philistines have long been absorbed into the surrounding
populations and disappeared. The Arabs who today live in Israel are in no sense
related to the ancient Philistines. Instead, they are immigrants who came from
Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, and the Arabian Peninsula and settled in Israel in
order to take advantage of the Jewish developments in the holy land. The
truth is that ancient Israel was destroyed by the Romans in 135 CE as a result
of the Bar Kochba revolt. The land of Israel then remained in Roman hands until
the Emperor Constantine moved the capital of the Empire to the town of
Byzantium, which he then called Constantinople, or the city of Constantine. This
occurred in the fifth century. From then on, the Eastern Roman Empire was called
the Byzantine Empire, including the holy land. In
1453, the Turks overran Constantinople and invaded the entire Byzantine Empire,
including the land of Israel. This meant that the Turks ruled in Israel until
they lost the First World War to the British in 1917. From then until 1948, when
Israel made itself independent, the British ruled there. It is therefore evident
that there was never a Palestinian state in the holy land and that there was
never a Palestinian government anywhere on earth. It is therefore impossible for
Israel to occupy a land that never existed and does not exist now. The
facts concerning Israel are these. In 1947, the United Nations voted to
partition the land of Israel for a second time. The first partition occurred in
1920, when the British arbitrarily handed a Bedouin tribe roaming about the
Saudi desert the east bank of Israel and labeled it Trans-Jordan. Now called
Jordan, this is Jewish land and belongs to Israel. When
the British army left Israel in May 1948, the Jews celebrated the establishment
of a free Jewish country for the first time in 1900 years. The Arabs, however,
who had already been given all of the east bank of Israel, now assembled a large
army for the purpose of killing every man, woman and child in
Israel. In that they did not succeed, as the Israelis fought back and maintained
their independence. Subsequently, the Egyptians closed the Suez Canal in 1956,
leading Israel, England, and France to invade the Sinai. Then President
Eisenhower threatened to use American forces on behalf of Egypt, thereby causing
Israel to retreat. Encouraged by this betrayal of the Jewish people on the part
of the American president, the dictator of Egypt, Nasser, decided to destroy
Israel. To do so, he acquired numerous arms from Russia, including a very large
Air Force, and innumerable tanks and
other weapons. Likewise Syria to the north of Israel was armed by the Russians
with a very large force of tanks and guns. Meanwhile the British armed Jordan
with a view of invading Israel from three sides and killing the entire
population. Added to these three countries with the armies of Lebanon, Iraq, and
the so-called PLO,
in early 1967 the Egyptians and
Syrians concluded a military pact aimed at destroying Israel. This objective
seemed entirely possible, since the combined armed forces of these two countries
alone were more than double the size of Israel’s armed forces. The Arabs in
addition could count on the Iraqis and Jordanians and the PLO to help in their
intended mass murder. Every day for months the Egyptians broadcast horrible
threats at Israel, promising to slaughter every man, woman, and child Nazi
style. Meanwhile the American media, and particularly the mainline churches such
as the Episcopalians and Presbyterians, were drooling in anticipation of
enjoying another Jewish Holocaust. The prospect of seeing mountains of Jewish
corpses yet again gave these Christians immense satisfaction, as they preached
that the Jews would soon be slaughtered for their failure to recognize the
Christian God. In
the United States, Jews prayed for the survival of their brethren, and rabbis
held speeches seeking to bolster the courage of the American Jewish community. In
May 1967 the Egyptians moved 900 tanks to
the border of Israel. On May 30, King
Hussein of Jordan announced that he too would attack Israel together with Egypt,
Iraq, and Syria in a holy war. It appeared that the Jews of Israel were doomed
and that nothing would save them. Then,
to the consternation of the world and the disappointment of the media, on June
5, 1967, the small Israeli Air Force flew over Egypt and in a few hours
destroyed the entire Egyptian Air Force parked in the open on numerous
airfields. This gave Israel air superiority, so that when the Egyptians attacked
from the south, the Syrians and Iraqis from the north, and the Jordanians from
the east, the Israelis succeeded in
defeating all their enemies at once, not only because the Egyptians lost their
air force but mainly because the Jews were fighting for their lives while
the Arabs were fighting for an easy victory, allowing them to mass murder Jews
and steal all the possessions of the Jews they hoped to kill in a manner
resembling the fashion in which the Europeans had stolen all the Jewish property
from the Jews they had murdered between 1933 and 1945. Israel had won an
enormous and astonishing victory, allowing Israeli forces to capture the entire
Sinai Peninsula and locate themselves at the Suez Canal. On
October 6, 1973, the Egyptians and the Syrians attacked once more in the hope of
drinking Jewish blood. They lost again and once more the
Jews saved themselves from another Holocaust. In sum, it is obvious that
the wars between Israel and its Arab neighbors were entirely the fault of the
Arabs, who greedily sought to enrich themselves by slaughtering Jews, only to
discover that Jews are no longer the patsies that they were in Europe but that
they intend to fight back to defend their lives from the Hitlers of the present
and the future. There’s a lot more
to be understood concerning the Arab wish to destroy Israel. One thing is
certain. The Arabs have no grievance, as the only thing they have lost in all
their bloodthirsty efforts is the chance to steal the possessions of the Jews. Shalom u’vracha. Dr. Gerhard Falk is the author of numerous publications, including The Assault on Democracy (2017). |
