An Eerie Similarity

     In 2008, a provincial, largely unknown politician suddenly appeared on the national stage and, defeating all odds, rose to the presidency of the United States. He had two assets which made this possible. He was financed by large contributions from wealthy Jews and he had an immense public speaking ability which he used so effectively that he was labeled the American Messiah, the man who would solve all of our problems. He promised everyone everything and gathered huge audiences to hear his promises. Indeed he hinted that he had great sympathy with the enemies of Israel, but the American Jewish voters didn’t want to hear that and became deaf to his anti-Jewish innuendos.

     In 1932, a provincial, largely unknown German politician who had been born in Austria suddenly appeared on the German national stage and, defeating all odds, became the chancellor of Germany in January of 1933. He had two assets which made that possible. He was financed by large contributions from wealthy industrialists and he had immense public speaking ability, which he used so effectively that he was labeled the German Messiah, the man who would solve all of the German people's problems. He promised everyone everything and gathered huge audiences to hear his promises. Indeed he let it be known that he was a determined enemy of the Jews but the German Jews didn’t want to hear that and became deaf to his anti-Jewish tirades. They said to each other: “Things are never eaten as hot as they are cooked” (“Es wird nicht so heiss gegessen wie es gekocht wird”).

     In 2010, after one year in office, the American Messiah hesitated no more. He publicly called for he destruction of Israel and denounced the building of homes for Jews in Jerusalem. “Jews,” said he, “ have no right to live in Jerusalem,” and should be deported from there.

     In 1935, the German Messiah declared at Nürnberg that Jews have no right to live in Germany and should be deported from that country. It followed that Jews also had no right to live in Poland, Russia, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Greece, Croatia, Lithuania, France, Italy, or anywhere.

     Likewise it is reasonable that if Jews have no right to live in Jerusalem they also have no right to live in Tel Aviv or Haifa or Rishon LeZion or anywhere in Israel. Of course, if Jews have no right to live in Israel, they surely have no right to live in the United States, let alone Europe. In short, whoever believes that Jews, and only Jews, cannot live wherever they please subscribes to the view that there is no room on the planet for Jews.

     Throughout the middle ages and into the nineteenth century, church authorities and secular rulers in Europe always insulted and humiliated the representatives of the Jewish communities whenever they were constrained to visit these rulers. The government officials treated Jews with contempt and publicly humiliated them at every occasion.

     Likewise, the American Messiah treated the prime minister of Israel with contempt and publicly humiliated him at the occasion of his recent visit. The insults delivered to Benjamin Netanyahu were meant for all Jews, who were thereby taught that the government of the United States has the same view of Jews as did the medieval Muslims and Christians. Jews are not equal citizens of the United States, said the treatment of Israel’s representative. Jews are as welcome in the White House as a skunk at a picnic.

     The outcome of these developments can be foreseen. Siding with the Arab terrorists against Israel, the present administration issued an ultimatum to the Jews. “Get out of 75% of Israel and hand it to the terrorists or we will send American armed forces into Israel and hand the land to the terrorists.” Such a move would make 700,000 Jews homeless and give the terrorists a base inside Israel with which to destroy that country from within. Assaulted on all sides by the armies of 250 million Arabs and inside by the Hamas killers, the chances of even one Jew surviving the onslaught are slim. Here we have the makings of another Holocaust.

     In the early 1930’s, Ze'ev Jabotinksy, a Russian Jewish journalist, traveled from one Jewish community to the next and warned the Jews of what was to come. The Jews denounced him and would not listen. Elie Wiesel, in his book “Night,” describes how a Polish Jew visited Wiesel’s Hungarian native village and warned the Jews that the imminent Nazi takeover would lead to their destruction, as it had already occurred in Poland. The Jews refused to believe him until the Germans came and it was too late.

     Likewise, the American Jewish community, like demented lemmings, continues to vote for Democrats, the party of the American Jew haters. Blind to the approaching disaster, Jews give money to Democrats and support our enemies. In the end, the destruction of Israel will lead to an attack on the American Jewish community as well, as American Jews will be accused of a lack of patriotism if they refuse to side with the haters. This technique worked well in Europe where it is still in vogue. It is coming here. No - it is already here.

     There still is time. If elections are held in November, it is still possible to deprive all Democrats of Jewish money and votes and a reversal of these policies can be achieved. Otherwise, Israel is doomed and so are we.
